Getting Started

Guides for authoring, running and analysing tests across web automation, API and performance — plus setup, collaboration and release notes.

Core Terminology

Core terminology used across Bitassert for authoring, executing, and analyzing tests.

Testcase

A testcase is an executable automation definition that captures a test scenario as ordered steps. It can include reusable references, test data inputs, and execution settings that together validate expected behavior.

Step Group

Step Groups let you save and reuse a set of steps across testcases. For repetitive flows like login or common setup actions, Step Groups reduce duplication and keep maintenance centralized.

Element

Elements are reusable UI objects in Web automation such as links, buttons, and input fields. They carry locator details and metadata used to reliably identify and interact with UI controls during execution.

Test Data

Test Data is a dataset or variable collection used during execution for parameterized and data-driven scenarios. It allows the same testcase to run with multiple value sets without rewriting test logic.

Test Run Config

Test Run Config is the execution profile for a run. It controls runtime behavior and target context so authored testcases can be executed consistently across environments.

Test Result

Test Result is the output of an execution, including status and diagnostics. It captures run-level and step-level outcomes used for analysis, debugging, and reporting.

Baseline

Baseline is a reference result used primarily in performance comparison. It helps measure regressions or improvements by comparing current runs against a known benchmark.

Local Agent

Local Agent is the runtime bridge for execution connectivity between Bitassert and the user environment. It enables local execution-dependent flows and returns real-time execution status back to the application.
