Login/access FAQs
Common questions about signing in, organization/project context, roles, and invitations.
After signing in, I can't create an organization — why?
Creating an organization requires a licensed account linked to your profile. If the option is unavailable or you see “Please contact support to create an account,” your profile isn’t licensed yet. Subscriptions are module-based and arranged with us —contact bitassert.com/contact to attach a license, then the Create Organization option becomes available.
I logged in but don't see any organization or project — what's wrong?
Access is granted only after you accept an invitation, and everything is scoped to an org/project. If nothing shows, you have no accepted membership yet — check your notifications for a pending invite, or ask an admin to invite you.
Why can't I see certain modules or pages after logging in?
Your assigned role determines what you can see and do. A limited/ReadOnly role hides or disables some areas. Ask an org/project admin to grant the role you need.
How do I switch between organizations or projects?
Use the organization/project switcher in the header. All data and actions apply to the currently selected context.
My testcases/datasets/results "disappeared" — where did they go?
They're almost certainly in a different org/project. Testcases, datasets, and results are context-scoped — switch to the correct org/project from the header.
Why are the Create / Edit / Delete buttons missing for me?
Those actions require more than ReadOnly access. If the buttons/icons aren't shown, your project role is ReadOnly — request a higher role.
I invited a teammate but they still can't see the project — why?
Invitations must be accepted first, and access is limited to the org/project the invite was for. Ask them to accept the pending invite, then confirm they're in the right context.
Why can't I add a person directly to a project?
Project invites are chosen from users who already belong to the organization. To add someone new, invite them to the organization first (org invites accept a new email), then add them to the project.
What's the difference between an organization invite and a project invite?
An org invite can use a brand-new email address and grants org membership. A project invite only selects from existing org members and grants access to that project.
Why does my invite need a role before I can send it?
Every invite requires a role — an org role for org invites, a project role for project invites. If you assign projects within an org invite, you must also pick a project role (that field stays disabled until you select a project).
I keep getting logged out / my requests suddenly fail — why?
Your sign-in session (access token) expired. Tokens aren't renewed silently in the background, so API calls start failing and live updates stop. Sign in again to restore access.
Do I have to log in again when my session expires?
Yes. There's no silent renewal — re-authenticate and both API access and live updates resume.
Why does login fail or never complete?
Sign-in goes through a separate identity (OIDC) server. If the app loads but login won't complete, that server or its endpoints may be blocked/unreachable from your network. Allow access to it through your firewall/proxy and retry.
