Common Features (Web/API/Performance)
Guides for authoring, running and analysing tests across web automation, API and performance — plus setup, collaboration and release notes.
Parameterization and variable mapping
Parameterization lets the same testcase run with different values without rewriting steps. Syntax and resolution depend on the module and where the value is defined.
| Aspect | Web | API | Performance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed / tabular values | @{columnName} from Data Sets | Literal or field values on HTTP steps | From linked functional testcase or JMX/CSV plan |
| Generated values | ${__variableName} random variables | Literals or dynamic values in step fields | Driven by source testcase or JMX thread group |
| Runtime / chained values | ${variableName} from prior step responses | Extract Response / JSONPath into variables for later steps | Uses variables defined on the linked functional flow under load |
| When resolved | Cloud and Local Agent runs | Cloud, Local Agent, and Send | During cloud load execution only |
